BRF har ett samarbete med våra internationella kamrater i branschen och tillhör såväl Europas som det globala facket. I USA och Kanada har man satsat ansenliga resurser eller med svenska mått mätt, enorma resurser, på forskning och åtgärder före, under och tyvärr efter cancerrelaterade sjukdomar som drabbar brandmän. Det material som Susan skickade här sist kommer från den presskonferens man haft om bröstcancer bland kvinnliga brandmän. Materialet är stort och många, många filer samt cd-skivor och som vanligt kommer väl någon säga; ”-jo där ja men vad gäller i Sverige och finns det några källor och vi jobbar ju på ett annat sätt?” Ni har fel, riktigt fel och det sätt vi jobbar annorlunda på är värre i många delar än vad de gör ”där” och vi är efter, långt efter och så referenser ja; Här kommer en bråkdel och bara delar av vad som rör/berör bröstcancer.

En glimt, för jag har mer, mycket, mycket mer och om hela problematiken och det är hög tid att cancer bland brandmän tas på allvar snart även i Sverige. Före, under och om det behövs, efter. Vi driver och kommer stenhårt att växla upp och driva på detta nu än mer. Vidare var jag på ett mycket bra möte i Stockholm, Sverige, igår om och i dessa frågor med. Här jobbar vi tillsammans med Kommunal, SKL/Pacta, AV, MSB och i ett mycket bra arbete men mer om det sedan. Och bocken i Gävle står kvar medan tomten vilar sig i form för årets insats. Hade´
